The Town Green in Avondale Estates is a step closer to reality as designers and staff work to present a design plan to the Board of Mayor and Commissioners in late March.
This park area will be a portion of the five-acres currently owned by the City and the Downtown Development Authority. Concept #9, which was designed by architect and local resident Sheri Locke and was selected by residents from the 11 submitted in 2017, is the foundation for this effort. However, there are still decisions to be made to ensure the Town Green project is something everyone can be proud to call a part of Avondale Estates.
Using Concept 9 as the framework for the design and overall project, the City is looking to invite the public to a series of public workshops, online scenarios, and more that will finalize the design plan for the park. Join us at these upcoming public workshops and online to be a part of the process of designing this part of the future of Avondale Estates.
Like you, we can’t wait to get started bringing this new park to everyone!
