[ARCHIVED] Donations Sought for Light Up the Lake Lantern Parade

Lantern Parade

The City of Avondale Estates is excited to announce its new annual fall event, 'Light Up the Lake!' Lantern Parade, to be held on October 13, 2018.

A series of “Lantern-Making Workshops” are scheduled to take place at AE First Baptist Church and Little Tree Studios and will be led by Avondale residents as well as local artists. The workshops are open to everyone – adults and children. Lantern kits will be available for sale at the workshops as well as Garage Door Studio for $35.

The parade will begin at 7:30 pm, starting at the Kensington triangle and will proceed down Berkeley Road to the lake. As our parade of lanterns encircle the lake, the DeKalb School of the Arts will provide a DJ, music, and a lantern ballet. In addition, there will be a glowing flotilla of large lanterns on the lake created by Chantelle Rytter, originator of the Belt Line Lantern Parade.

Your support is needed for this community event. Please consider a donation to help with getting the lantern flotilla on the water to Light Up the Lake!

Business logos, organization logos and Individual Friends of “Light Up the Lake” will be listed on banners, posters, in the weekly e-News and on the City's website. A donation of $25-$50-$100-$200 or any other amount will be greatly appreciated!

Please mail your donations to AE City Hall, 21 North Avondale Plaza, Avondale Estates, GA 30002 by April 15.
