Important Update on New Sanitation Service Provider for City Businesses

After careful evaluation, the city approved a contract with Arrow Waste to handle all sanitation and recycling in the city, including service to the city's businesses. The decision was made to provide the most cost-effective and efficient way to manage the city's solid waste disposal.

Effective May 13, Arrow Waste will be responsible for all aspects of waste collection, disposal and recycling for businesses within the city limits that choose to contract with them. The city is confident their expertise and commitment to excellence will greatly benefit the community. The last day the city will provide sanitation service is May 10.

Service Options

Sanitation

The city's contract with Arrow provides the following options for businesses based on per-can costs:

• Three-day-a-week service at $24.72 per month per 95-gallon trash receptacle, or
• Five-day-a-week service at $41.20 per month per 95-gallon trash receptacle.

Three-yard dumpsters are also available. Businesses need to speak directly to Arrow Waste regarding the pricing.

Recycling

Arrow Waste offers weekly recycling for $8.72 per month per receptacle. Aluminum, paper, cardboard, and plastics numbered 1-5 and 7 are accepted materials. Glass recycling is not included.

Key Points to Note About the Transition to the New Sanitation Service Provider

• Starting Service: To take advantage of the city-guaranteed rates for sanitation and/or recycling, businesses must contact Arrow Waste's customer service department directly at 770-441-3037
• Customer Support: All questions or concerns regarding sanitation services should be directed to Arrow Waste at 770-441-3037.
• Billing: Payment for sanitation services will no longer be tied to business licenses and will be made directly to Arrow Waste instead of the city.
• Outside vendors: As always, businesses have the option to contract with a different sanitation and/or recycling vendor.

Businesses Currently Using City Sanitation Services

• New Receptacles / Pickup of Former City Receptacles: Arrow Waste will start delivering new trash and recycling receptacles to businesses that choose to use its services the week of May 6. Old receptacles that are no longer wanted will be picked up for disposal by the city.
