Halloween in Avondale Estates

On October 31, Halloween night, trick-or-treating hours are from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Every year, and the City closes some of its streets and issues a detailed traffic plan so children can safely stroll through the neighborhood. Read Halloween Safety Tips (PDF) from Avondale Estates Police Chief Thomas.

To ensure safety off all Halloween trick-or-treaters, Avondale Estates will be implementing its usual traffic plan. The plan will go into effect at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31 with routes reopening at 8:30 p.m. when trick-or-treating concludes.

  • South Avondale Road will be closed at East College Avenue (Carl's Corner). Traffic will still be allowed from Clarendon Avenue at the clock tower.
  • Traffic will be one way, southbound on Clarendon Avenue from South Avondale Road to Wiltshire Drive.
  • Traffic on Kingstone Road will be one way, eastbound from Fairfield Plaza to Berkeley Road, then east to Lakeshore Drive or north on Berkeley Road.
  • Wiltshire Drive will be one way, westbound from Clarendon Avenue to Forrest Boulevard.
  • Wiltshire Drive will be one way, eastbound from Clarendon Avenue to Berkeley Road, then north on Berkeley Road.

Halloween Spirit Awards
Drape your home or business in cobwebs, turn your yard into a cemetery, carve a bevy of pumpkins, or put your own spooky twist on your property for the City of Avondale Estates Halloween Spirit Awards.
