Periodically, we seek applicants who have a desire to become public servants and want to serve our community as a Peace Officer. The Avondale Estates Police Department hires on an "as needed" basis as openings become available.
The minimum qualifications for an individual to be considered for employment as a Peace Officer with the Department include:
-Be twenty-one (21) years of age
-Never having been convicted of a felony crime
-Possess a high school diploma or GED
-Pass a detailed background investigation
If an applicant meets the minimum requirements they may be asked to continue a process that includes:
-Interview
-Written Exam (mathematics, spelling, grammar & reading)
-Medical Examination
-Drug Screen
-Psychological Evaluation
